What is EGX Birmingham?

EGX BIRMINGHAM (former Rezzed) was born as a spin off of Eurogamer Expo in 2012.

Rezzed, a PC and indie games show, was announced in 2012 by Eurogamer and Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

Rezzed was originally held on July 6th-7th 2012 at the Brighton Centre. On September 11th 2012, the first lineup of developers and playable games were announced for Rezzed. In 2013 Rezzed became EGX Rezzed and kept going for future years.

EGX Rezzed 2020 was originally scheduled for 26th-28th March 2020, but was postponed to 2nd-4th July 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic before being cancelled entirely on March 13th 2020.

With the start of COVID-19 immunizations on February 19th 2021, it was stated that EGX Rezzed would resume live events, and they feel they fulfill government criteria.

On October 11th, 2021, EGX Rezzed was renamed EGX Birmingham and announced that it would return to the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. The renamed EGX Birmingham intends to broaden the “Rezzed Zone” by allowing AAA firms to present select spring titles in addition to the usual indie showcases.

EGX BIRMINGHAM 2022 CANCELLED DUE TO PANDEMIC

It was initially scheduled for March 4th-6th 2022, but was postponed until 2023 due to “the current environment and Omicron’s knock-on effects.”
