What’s ESL One Dota Major?

ESL One is a professional gaming tournament series hosted by the ESL Gaming Network. The Dota 2 Major Championships are the pinnacle of each competitive season, with sixteen of the world’s best teams fighting for their share of a $1 million prize pool. The event is also the last chance for teams to earn qualification points for The International, Dota 2’s annual world championship

What’s On

Gaming fans from all over the world are eagerly awaiting the first Dota Major tournament with a live audience in over a year. Hovet Arena in Stockholm, Sweden will play host to the event from May 20 – 22. A total of 14 teams will be competing for their share of the $500,000 prize pool. This marks an important moment for the esports community, as it is one of the first major live events since the pandemic began. With strict safety protocols in place, this event will be a safe and exciting way for fans to enjoy their favorite pastime once again.

Opening Hours

On Friday evenings, the doors to this facility will open up in late afternoon and show two matches occurring within. Saturday & Sunday openings are anticipated earlier than noon (but exact time confirmation has not yet been finalized).

The 14 teams that placed first through fourteenth in their respective region’s division I brackets are invited to compete at a major. The event will have guaranteed slots for 2 more teams, meaning there is no limit on how many participants can come from one league per country or territory wide!
