One Life Left
OLL was the very first two-day video gaming convention that took place on the 9th and 10th of April 2022. It was held in Norfolk Showground Arena by One Life Left gaming cafe and featured a variety of different video game tournaments, cosplay competitions, merchandise stalls, and more.
Due to the success of OLL22, OLL is set to return in 2023!
OLL is the perfect event for any video game enthusiast. Whether you’re a casual player or a hardcore gamer, there’s something for everyone at this convention. There will be plenty of opportunities to win prizes, buy merchandise, and meet like-minded people.
An amazing gaming area will be set up courtesy of One Life Left, Nintendo Norwich, Norwich Retro Gamers, Norwich Amiga Group, Last Level Games, Norwich VR Escape Rooms, and Joypad. The Centre for Computing History is backing it as well.
There will be a variety of games, high-score challenges, and competitions in several formats ranging from the 1980s to today, as well as the biggest Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament ever held in the East of England!
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to watch and take part in performances from a variety of artists and partners, including the Centre for Computing History, Ashens, Caddicarus, UpIsNotJump, Nostalgia Nerd, and Super Happy Kill Time – as well as many more! You will also be able to enjoy tournament finals, speed runs, and very cool panels with guests and partners. Expect a Livestream full of fun as well.
Among our many other traders and exhibitors who’ll be on the show floor selling games, merchandise, and refreshments will be The Games Table and Zatu Games, both of whom will have a tabletop gaming area.
In addition, OLL ’22 will be proudly supporting Special Effect, the gamers’ charity, which specialises in assisting disabled people with easier access to gaming. This year’s convention is expected to be even bigger and better than last year’s, with more games and activities available for attendees to participate in. If you enjoy video games, OLL is a must-attend event!
OLL ’22 will feature the most Super Smash Bros Ultimate Tournament ever seen in the east of England, hosted by OLL, Nintendo Norwich, and with a TO team led by Tom “G-P” Scott! The tournament is organised as an autonomous community event and is not otherwise sponsored or promoted by Nintendo UK.
The top four players receive 100% of the prize pool funds, which are distributed among them based on their ranking.
The largest-ever Video Games Quiz will be held on Sunday, August 17th, at OLL ’22, sponsored by Numskull Designs and hosted by Did You Know Gaming.
Expect rounds dedicated to many different eras and styles of gaming, as well as some fantastic rewards!
On the final day of the program, get your team signed up! If you’re really prepared, go ahead and register in advance via their website’s registration form but make sure that you’ve purchased your Sunday tickets before signing up your team. Team sizes 1-6 people are allowed.
WiFi Wars is a live comedy game show where you can participate! Compete in a variety of games, quizzes, and challenges to win the show and rewards by logging in with your smartphone or tablet.
Make sure you bring a charged smartphone!
Attendees are welcome to wear their favourite cosplay but there isn’t such a thing as a Cosplay competition at OLL ’22.
To make things simpler, you should follow common sense. Weapons and sharp objects are not permitted. Controversial images are forbidden. Offensive catchphrases, hand signals, or intimidating appearances as well. OLL ’22 management reserves the right to refuse entry for any reason.
Please don’t take pictures of Cosplayers without their authorization. Be respectful! They will be more than ok with you doing it, but don’t do it without them knowing!
