PREMIER ESPORTS TOURNAMENTS AND CIRCUITS FOR MASSIVE AUDIENCES
The $1,000,000 purse of the PGL Antwerp Major will bring Majors back to their customary size and form. The same prize pool has been present since 2016’s MLG Columbus Major which raised it from 250k before that date’s previous highs during 2013-2015 where each major had its own pot alongside this newest 1 million dollar increase introduced last year alone when we saw two tournaments canceled.
The PGL Antwerp Major will be one of the most top-heavy events this year, with $500K up for grabs but reaching it is still lucrative business. For organizations that means money collected from purchases made by players while they’re participating in game like team stickers which Valve owns and distributes after major competitions are over; one big change made at last month’s Stockholm edition meant signature cards were reduced only applied if someone reached playoffs–a first ever!
The CS:GO Major is the biggest event on this calendar, and has been hosted since 2013 by various tournament organizers. Backed up with game developer Valve; it’s no wonder why these competitions are so intense!
The Counter-Strike elite will assemble in Antwerp, Belgium, for the 17th CS:GO Major Championship this May. The 24 teams that earned their spots at the most prestigious event through Regional Major Ranking tournaments will face off with over two weeks with the goal of raising the trophy and etching their name in history.
The tournament will feature three stages, with the eight Contenders and eight Challengers starting in the Challengers’ Stage, and eight more waiting in the Legends stage. The first two stages will be played using the Swiss format, leading up to the Champions stage — a single-elimination playoff bracket.
